We are excited to share that the 2025-2026 school year calendar was approved by the school board on Tuesday night. It includes several important updates that reflect our commitment to aligning with neighboring districts and enhancing the overall learning experience for our students.
Key Changes :
Earlier Start Date: The school year will begin earlier in August. This adjustment is possible because all RPS 205 schools are equipped with air conditioning, ensuring a comfortable learning environment during warmer months.
Fall Break: We will continue to offer a full week off for Fall Break, giving families and staff time to recharge.
First Semester Ends Before Winter Break: High School students will complete their first semester before Winter Break, allowing for a true break without pending exams or projects.
School Year Ends Before Memorial Day: The last day of school will occur before Memorial Day, providing families an earlier start to summer vacation.
The 2025-2026 calendar can be viewed here on the Calendar page on rps205.com: https://5il.co/33ras

KMS staff members on the BAGS team "circled up" this morning to practice community-building restorative practices. They shared values for a safe circle space, discussed the indigenous origins of circle processes, and reflected on how to support students and families during the holiday season. The BAGS team members are committed to creating a sense of belonging for all of our scholars and creating and sustaining equitable practices in all we do. #kcatnation #rps205 #deib #bags #restorativepractices #circleup #educationalequity #equity13

The students in 6th grade have earned a dress down day for Friday November 22nd. They have earned this day by getting 75% of their class to have an 80% or higher attendance rate for the school year. The 7th grade and 8th grade will still need to be in school uniform for this day. The 8th grade are close to earning the same incentive but have to achieve the goal. The 6th grade students do not need to be in uniform but will still need to follow the following dress code guidelines: no hoodies, no inappropriate words or images on their clothes, and clothes must have appropriate covering.
