Keysan Taylor-2 Catches for 97 yards last week in a win over Freeport. Also, a key contributor on defense.
Kaiya Coffman-Had a great showing at the Montini Tournament setting her new personal best for blocks in a single match.

Good luck to the Guilford's Girls Varsity Flag Football team as they play in the IHSA's inaugural State Finals today! The quarterfinals start at 4:30 @ Willowbrook High School in Villa Park. If the Lady Vikings advance, they'll play tomorrow at 12:30. If they lose, the 3rd place game follows @ 2. Championship game is @ 4. You can check out Saturday's games live on WSLN 19.2. 13th annual Academy Expo: This event provided an opportunity for 2,000 9th graders to engage with 100 area businesses to explore potential career opportunities. It helps forge a relevant link between student curriculum & future careers. Students will utilize this event to make an academy selection.











A Viking’s View: Check out the new roof at Guilford High School! Architect Richard L Johnson Associates & contractor Sterling Commercial Roofing worked together to demolish 200-thousand square feet of the existing roofing (all but the fieldhouse addition) & replace it with a new roofing system. The project started at the end of March & was completed in September. It looks great!

Last week members of the SALT leadership team joined with students from the PLUS class to create banners to use during the pep rally. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their time together! #VikingPride🩵








To celebrate National School Lunch Week, RPS 205 is holding a contest to see who can make the most creative chicken sandwich. The students who create winning chicken sandwiches will win an iPad and their sandwiches will be featured on the menu in the Spring Semester! Please turn in your work of art to the kitchen team in your school's cafeteria between October 14-18. We can't wait to see the delicious combinations you draw up!

Congratulations to the winners of last week's door decorating competition! In no particular order, the three winners are the third-period classes of Mrs. Rill/Mrs. Ihonde, Mrs. Khattab, and Mr. Yerk! The students were surprised with donuts and juice this morning! 🥳🍩





ROW, ROW, ROW, YOUR BOAT: RPS 205 held its cardboard canoe races at Levings Lake on Friday morning. It’s a yearly event where high school students in the Engineering Pathway at all 5 high schools create, build, and then race a cardboard canoe. Students from STEAM Academy at Haskell also joined in on the fun. Chief Information Officer, Jason Barthel, hopped in a canoe to race as well.











Congratulations to our Athletes of The Week, Hannah King and Eileen O'Brien!! 🥳
Hannah King: Secured 1st place out of 15 athletes in the 100 backstroke at the 2024 Prospect Battle Royale swim meet with a time of 1:00.65, winning by almost a full second. In addition to her win, she placed 6th in the 200 individual medley, 5th in the 200 individual medley relay, and 6th in the 400 freestyle relay.
Eileen O'Brien: Led the team to a 3 set win over Harlem with 3 starters knocked out of the rotation. She served 3 aces in the game and led the team in digs with 8.

Zariah had 4 interceptions in 2 games and 2 were returned for touchdowns. She also returned a punt for a touchdown against Auburn. 🏈
Juan was a big part of the JV soccer win for their tournament in Dekalb. He is currently leading the team in assists. ⚽️
